What Do You Need To Get A Marriage License In Florida?
To obtain a marriage license in Florida, both individuals must produce the following two items:
A picture ID (i.e. Driver’s license, valid passport, etc.)
Social security numbers

Can You Get Married The Same Day In Florida?
For Florida Residents – There is a 3 day waiting period before the license is validated. You can avoid this 3 day waiting period by attending and completing the State Sanctioned Marriage Preparation course (as long as you’ve completed the course within the last 12 months).

For Non Residents of Florida – There is no waiting period so yes, you can apply and get married on the same day.
Florida Marriage License Requirements
Marriage Licenses must be obtained in Florida in order for you to be legally married in Florida
A Notary, Judge, or Ordained Minister must perform the ceremony in the State of Florida
Licenses can be obtained at any courthouse in Florida and you can get married anywhere in the state of Florida regardless of where you went to apply for a marriage license
No waiting period for Non-Florida residents. For Florida residents: Either a 3-Day waiting period or a 4-Hour counseling session is required
No blood test required for out of state couples
Your marriage by the Florida Notary or Minister is legal worldwide
If either party has been divorced in the last 6 months, a copy of the divorce decree is required
The marriage license is valid for 60 days after date of issue and ceremony must be performed

What do you need to bring with you?
Bride and Groom must be 18 years of age, and both must be present to apply
If either is under 18, but more than 16 years of age, written and notarized consent must be obtained from the parents or legal guardian of the minor person, and filed with the application
If one of a minor’s parents is deceased, the remaining parent must provide written, notarized consent. If a minor’s parents are both deceased and there is not an appointed guardian, he/she may apply for a marriage license. A minor who has been previously married may also apply for a license
Exceptions are also made if you are expectant parents or are already the parents of a child. Please see Florida Statute741.0405 for more information
Picture ID such as a driver’s license, state ID card, or valid passport
Both parties will also have to provide their Social Security numbers, but do not need to provide their Social Security Cards
